Earthclick.net LLC is a small, family owned ISP, founded in 2010 by David C. Work Sr. Our story actually begins in 1995, when David married Becky, a local Realtor. They joined their expertise – David’s in computers and Becky’s in Real Estate – to create Oregon Internet Properties (OIP), the area’s first and most extensive Internet Real Estate advertising site.
During it’s peak, OIP served ads for as many as 200 local area Realtors and Mortgage Lenders. OIP purchased a local Internet Service provider (Peregrine Data Systems) and began offering Dialup Services and Email to their clients. While Becky spent most of her time writing Real Estate ads for OIP’s advertising Realtors, much of David’s time was spent training their customers about the Internet, and most importantly, about Email.
In 2010, there was enough business to justify splitting the Internet component of the business into its own entity. Earthclick.net managed its own servers and bandwidth, making it one of the only full services ISPs in Lane County. Services now includedengineering and managing the City of Cottage Grove’s Municipal WIFI network, Cottage Grove’s fiber infrastructure, several servers devoted to Email, DNS, and website hosting.
