• Web Pages: I don't have a website - can you help?

  Yes. We have several options available. You can create you own website, hire someone to create it for you, or you can use one of our templates. We use a tool called "Website Builder", and you can design and implement your website in a matter of minutes.

• Price: How much does it cost you to host your domain?

  EarthClick.net's hosting fees are flexible and related to the number of services you have:

  • Business Card Website (Free – one page, essentially a place holder, no email addresses, other services (dialup, DSL) are required)
  • Personal Website ($7.50/mo, 1 email address. “Personal” templates only, 10 pages)
  • Personal Website ($15.00/mo, 3 email address. “Personal” templates only, 10 pages)
  • Starter Business Website ($10/mo, 5 email address. All templates; 3 pages)
  • Small Business Website ($25/mo, 15 email addresses. All templates; 30 pages)
  • E-Commerce Website ($32.50/mo, 15 email addresses. All templates plus e-commerce capability; 70 pages.

• Statistics: do you have access to server logs?

  You can access the raw server logs at not cost, or we can implement EarthClick.net's Urchin Statistics for only $5 per month for detailed information about your domain traffic.

• Email: how many email addresses do you get? How do you maintain them?

  You can have as many as 15 email addresses, all with forwarding and autoresponse capability. At present, EarthClick staff sets up and deletes email accounts, but users can change their passwords themselves.

• Webmail: is Email available through a Web Interface?

  EarthClick.net email is served by POP3 (incoming) and SMTP (outgoing) emails. Your POP3 email account can be access by any standard Email client (Outlook, Netscape, Eudora, Pegasus, etc.) running on Windows, Macs or Unix machines.

  Additionally, your POP3 email account can be accessed using "WebMail" when you travel or if you can't access your normal Email client.

• Spam Friendly?: is your hosting company "spam friendly"? If so, that's bad.

  EarthClick.net has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for spam. To allow spammers access to our mail server invites blacklisting and immeasurable problems for our customers. EarthClick.net does not RELAY email from other providers, and we will immediately cancel any account which spams. Even though legal, Unsolicited Commercial Email (UCE) allowed by the CAN-SPAM is prohibited by our contracts with our customers.

• Database Support: does your host support any type of Database?

  EarthClick.net support MySQL and postgreSQL.

• Scripting languages: does your host support any type of Scripting Language?

  At present, EarthClick.net supports PERL and PHP. Customer implementations are generally in a domain's private cgi library ("htbin"), although some programs may be installed universally.

• Front Page: does your host support Front Page extensions?

  EarthClick.net does not currently support Front Page extensions dues to concerns about Microsoft products security issues. However, Front Page websites can be generated to include javascript code that emulates these extensions, so we don't believe that this is a problem that can't be overcome.

• Does your host support FTP?

  In our opinion, you should have FTP (File Transfer Protocol) access to your website and your domain no matter who maintains it - you or your host.

• Secure Server and Shopping Cart?

  We maintain a secure server and current certificate, and allow our customers to use it at no additional cost. We have access to several shopping carts, but leave their implementation to our customers. We have experience with Merchant Services, and help arrange Merchant Services and the automation of Credit Card processing from your website.

• What other resources do you have access to (fee or no fee)?
